Safe dredges for CP
Since we are looking for safe ways in which to move as we get older with cerebral palsy. There are a few suggestions I'd like to offer.since we are looking for safe ways in which to move as we get older with cerebral palsy. There are a few suggestions I'd like to offer:offer:
1 at the top of my list that helps me many times is my recumbent bike. inside bike high every couple minutes change the resistance and I keep track of mine heart rate and I try to increase it 15% to be aerobic. Changing the resistance often works on spring training and aerobics. There are several final workouts that I can actually do one is to have strength training and the other is to do better with the Robert and it's just a matter of how often they change the dynamic of the resistance
Another straight safe strategy, is doing water aerobics, adding resistance, different types of love air containers and while I'm in the water it's really easy to move my feet around where I'm getting a lot of stretching and I can be in the water for longer periods of time which really works on stretching strengthening movement and gives my body a full range of motion which really helps the pain I haven't had opportunities this is this late but it's something that I have plans the third Wednesday I'm looking at safety errands to do are some serious stretching every day to work on my flexibility, and of course, working on flexibility for the person with cerebral palsy is always helping them reduce their pain and it is a strategy that many people in CT really enjoy because after they're done with it, they feel better and that they have less pain in their day so here are three ideas that I'm working with I haven't gotten to the pool yet, but I am looking at song to eventually add him to my water exercise I've done is on vacation and it's a lot of fun.
anytime but I can do 20 minutes 30 minutes 40 minutes it's all a win

To my fellow CP friends
In a discussion with a medical friend of mine I postulate it that there is a little research about cerebral palsy in later life, because for the most part people with cerebral palsy probably have economic hardships. Where there is no money there usually is little interest in research. You may think I am being a little cynical but it is theory? Note the following quote:
"That being said, there has been little research and attention devoted to adults with cerebral palsy, and the knowledge within this population is limited (Peterson, Gordon and Hurvitz, 2012). As a result, adults with cerebral palsy are poorly understood, which makes it challenging to prevent health complications and facilitate right treatment (Peterson, Ryan, Hurvitz & Mahmoudi, 2015). This has implications in daily life as well, where public spaces and gyms often are poorly facilitated, creating a barrier to participation. The focus here will be on recommended activities, but it’s important to keep in mind that there is still a lot of work to be done in terms of removing participation barriers (Jahnsen 2005)."

In the past few years, I have had to come to terms with changes in my body related to cerebral palsy, that I did not anticipate. Changes did not happen overnight so gradually I started to have more difficulties.
I think when I am learning may have applications to similar challenges that all of us face when we get older. But for the kid in the wheelchair or braces impaired by cerebral palsy, there is a uniqueness.
Here are some of my current strategies that I am working on:
At home walking
Recumbent biking which I strongly recommend for those who have cerebral palsy. You may have to have some type of strap to help you to stay on the peddles.
Sitting chair exercises
Walking stairs
Soon I am recovering from right arm injury soon I will be back to resistance training and body exercises.
I am eating to lose weight
Longterm I want to research about cerebral palsy and report my findings so that people can become more aware. I especially want to encourage those who have cerebral palsy and are getting older. I hear you.

Websites to promote improved mobility
Here are a couple websites that has sit workouts For either seniors who become sedimentary, or recovering from surgery or injury. And actually that can be applied when you're younger and have some type of injury where you are restricted. I know several people who may because of their overweight or aging. Have a harder time walking. If you were healthy, But have a loved one who is older and needs to move a little bit to improve their daily life. The following websites may give you some ideas to help. To relate to the workouts try doing them yourself and see what muscles they are working.
I found doing the exercises particularly worked on my right side, where my right leg is weaker due to my cerebral palsy. I could feel the muscles working in the hip and core muscles.
One of the websites, does the moon move slower. The other two workouts one is more aerobic, and the other is probably meant for somebody who, for some reason has to be restricted as they recover. As you go through the work out, you can see the steps up to 500 not bad for an eight minute video.

Upbeat and more active
I know alot of you haave older parents that this may help. Keep it in miind if you hit a rut in the road or become to sedementry. I have added this idea to go with my recumbent biking. I need the movements to help me fight falling. Hope this encourages you.

Finding a way to keep moving
Even before I came to the hospital I was starting to research chair exercises for seniors. There are times When everybody is recovering from something where they have to be more sedimentary. When everybody is recovering from something where they have to be more sedimentary.
I was looking at it from the point of you of of adding one more activity besides biking on my recumbent. I saw the potential to do a movements that would help develop my core and balance stabilizing muscles. In the last couple of years I've been trying to do many things to reduce the number of falls that I take. Having cerebral palsy it's almost a given.. Having cerebral palsy it's almost a given.
Most of my life I did a lot of walking and working out playing sports and but within the last couple years I've had some injuries that have made it hard to do these things so you have to come up with a new game plan but I think that many people when they get older have to do the same thing. And this type of exercise I believe can help us with the quality of life that we live as we get older. But the potential of this type of exercise can help anybody who's for some reason Yes start over.
There are benefits chair exercises improve circulation and help with flexibility and they have even a cardiovascular benefit especially for those who are older and just about every kind of vibe benefit that she would get from other types of strategies the same holds true with the chair exercises. so if for some reason you become more sedimentary look into this I think it would encourage you. I believe if you do a good program of step exercises it can be like doing 1000 steps. But there's more to it than that because you're working muscles that you need and you can add resistant draining to it And flexibility so as I do more research on this I'll try to share more benefits that come from it and it's one way to keep walking.
If and flexibility so as I do more research on this I'll try to share more benefits that come from it and it's one way to keep walking.
If you learn about it and somehow the Lord blesses you with a long life I think you will find a need for it as you move into your senior year so your elderly years and we all want to have a good day you know with the days that we have left so keep walking
